Pretty Peonies
I have been kinda obsessed with Peonies lately. I just love how sweet, romantic and girly they are. Just looking at them makes me feel all happy and giddy like. I am so ready for spring and to have beautiful flowers all over my house. I am not one of those chicks who hates flowers because they die (hint hint J). I love them foe the beauty that they bring to my day and the joy that my boy gets out of them. He loves flowers almost as much as his Momma, he is always picking them for me and he has to stop to smell everyone he comes across. LOVE!
So, since I can't send each of my lovely readers flowers, I am going to just leave them here for you on the ol bloggy.
And I have to say, I was thinking of Anne the whole time I was writing this post because she is the flower guru and when I start my rose garden she is going to be my go to gal.

I'm Man Sick.
Have y'all ever heard that term before? It's a common one on my Mommy Boards. Basically it's when a man get's sick and acts like a big baby and can't do the slightest thing for himself. When a woman get's sick she still has to go to work, take care of the kids, the man, the animals, cook dinner and such. But when I get sick? I get man sick. I just lay around, let me kid watch way to much tv and whine to anyone who will listen.
This past week I have had some crud that I am just now getting over, it came with some weird cough and a sore throat plus I was/am super tired. But that could also have something to do with all the NyQuil I am taking. When I get The Toddler up he is afraid because I don't sound like me, it's a mix of Godzilla and a boy going thru puberty.
I have discovered the awesome that is Rescue Me though, I am in the second season now, and I am way in love with this show. I am going to get out of the house tonight for dinner with friends, study my booty off this weekend and write a paper, and do some work on a side job I have picked up. Hopefully I will get a nap in there at some point because right now I feel like I could fall asleep at my desk!
Have a wonderful weekend all!

Birchbox Brag!
It's the first link up y'all! Woot! Not only are you going to get to see me brag about my box (that's what she said) you can find other people bragging about their boxes!
If you don't know what Birchbox is, here is some fancy pants verbiage straight from the source.
| {products ; brand partners}
Now on to the good stuff, my box (that's what she said)!
|
| Ohhhhh, what's inside? |
| I have no idea why that picture won't get on it's side. |
- Supersmile Powdered Mouthrinse- You just put some water in the packet and swish it around in your mouth, like, you know, mouth rinse. This is perfect to keep in your diaper bag because a lot of Mom are so busy in the morning with their kiddo they forget to do things for themselves (not that I would know). It's also good to keep in your purse if you, uh, spend the night away from home a lot? I'm not judging!
- Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint- I have yet to try this out, but I am thisclose to being out of my tinted moisturizer so I am anxious to see how this one is. I am always looking to replace things.
- Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum- I love this stuff . I am pretty sure that Birchbox knew that my skin was being a asshole this week since they sent me this box. I had this horrible cystic pimple on my chin, it hurt and I was at a loss on what to do. I had talked to Meg since she is the guru and we both came to the conclusion that I shouldn't buy her HG acne cream since I break out once in a while (don't take that as bragging, I'm a fat girl, please don't wish acne on me too okay?). I put one little dab of this stuff on once and it knocked that pimple right out!
- Green River Ordinance- I have yet to listen to this, but I will. It says on the card they are a indie rock band, I sometimes like indie rock, so we shall see.
- Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant- I have also yet to use this, but I am excited to try! I am all about scrubbing away the dead skin cells and such so I am hoping that this stuff works well. I will also tell you my thoughts on it once I have used it. But that's a big bottle!
So, the box also came with these crazy fake eyeliner stickers called Eye Rock. I couldn't figure the damn things out. I also have freakishly small eyes so I would have to cut them down to nothing to get them to fit on my xs lids. BUT, they are excellent for fake mustaches.
That's it for my box! I can't wait to see what everyone else got! Be sure to check out my co-host Tara's Box as well!

For my Daddy
It has been 14 years today that my Dad passed away. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him. He would have been the best Grandfather in the world, I have no doubt in my mind about that. It almost feels weird saying this, and maybe if you have lost someone close to you, you will understand. But it's getting easier. Don't get me wrong, if it's a super beautiful sunny day (my Dad always smelled like that, a beautiful day) I will get that crushing pain in my chest and just break down. But it's not the all consuming pain that it was in the start. I have learned to cope, learned how to adjust my life without my Poppa.
I do often wonder what my life would be like if he were still alive. Kinda like the Grays Anatomy from a few weeks ago, would I be the super chipper girl who wears tons of pink? And speaking of Grays, one line that will always stick out to me is Christina "welcoming" George to the "dead dad's club". Kinda random for me to remember that right?
I will always remember his laugh, his crazy out there personality. I am so much like him it is scary at times. He was your typical southern frat boy, he was crass, he was vulgar, and he loved so deeply. He was my dad and he was the funniest most amazing man who ever walked this earth.
I leave you with a video from his favorite band of all time. And bonus, it's a Pop Up Video! I still remember him watching this for the first time and crying! This song says so much to me, when I miss my Dad, I listen to it. Because like Jerry says, I will get by, I will survive.

Brand spankin new linkup; Birchbox Brag!
My sister in snark Tara and I are both mildly obsessed with Birchbox. So, after seeing all the Birchbox posts last month we decided to host a linkup! That way you can come to one spot and find all the Birchbox posts your little heart could ever want! So be sure to come back on Monday to link up with Tara and I and brag about your Birchbox!
Want to know more about Birchbox? This verbiage is straight from there website, because they know how to talk all fancy like.
Each month, you'll receive a selection of 4-5 samples that we’ve tried (and retried) ourselves. You'll receive anything from skincare to makeup to cult beauty tools, from well-known brands as well as emerging gems. {source}
Tara and I will be hosting this each month, either on the 3rd or 4th Monday of the month, it all just depends on when the boxes are shipped.

This one goes out to the toughest girl I know!
I am the own/run a message board for Moms, these women are some of the most awesome, inspiring women I have ever "met" (well, I have met quite a few). In the past 3 years I have gotten to know these 300+ women so well that I feel like I have known them my whole life. Granted, it's not always PNR in the land of MeMo, but when one of us is going threw some crap we pull up the boot straps and band together.
In October a very scary message was posted on the board. Jeni was going to have her sweet girl at 24 weeks 2 days. Viability for a baby is 25 weeks. It was a very sobering moment for all of us, we didn't know if she was going to make it, the odds were against her. But that little chick fought, she fought hard. She had more strength in that little 1lb 8oz body than I have in mine. She let her Momma and 300 Aunties know that Layla is here, and she isn't going to put up with the doubt and she was going to show us like the little boss she is!
It has now been 3 months and Jeni is took "our" girl home with her this weekend. She is still going to need our thoughts, our prayers and when she meets all of her Aunties tons of squishy baby snuggles.
All of the blogging MeMos are going to be making a post for sweet Layla to celebrate her homecoming. If you would like to check out the other please read

I NEED a vacation!
I honestly can't remember the last time I went on one. We go to Dallas a lot to visit family, but I wouldn't consider that a vacation. Right now school is kicking my ass, my child is kicking my ass, and my dog is kicking my ass. So I need to kick my ass out of Texas and somewhere nice and tranquil. I am not not a beach person. I find sand gross and I am not a fan of water, sure I will chase my kid out of it, but ocean water is gross. Fish fart in the ocean, I don't want to swim in fart.
I really want to go to Alaska, I will someday! I have no idea what my obsession with Alaska is, it might have to do with the fact that I watch an abnormal amount of Northern Exposure as a child.
Oh Antarctica! I would go there with my Mom, she had the opportunity to go, all expenses paid when I was in high school for 6 weeks and didn't. So I kinda owe her I guess?
Ireland, the land of my people that I didn't know were my people until 2007.
And of course France! And I would like to stay in this little house please. Actually, can I just please live there? Thanks!
So, if you could go anywhere in the world, money is no object, where would you go?

Bookish
While studying I often get distracted by pinterest, hey, who doesn't right? I have been putting random things in the search such as "glitter" "preppy" "yuppie" and of course "books".
Here some of my most awesome recent finds.

What fun pins have you pinned as of late?
